The Narcotics Anonymous Books4Crooks Basic Text Drive was founded by a group of addicts who in their travels to different women's prisons from the USA to Africa always was asked the same question "How can I get a Basic Text?" Hundreds of incarcerated addicts asking for books.

Men behind bars have more help then women behind bars. So we help women first.
We were more and more frustrated, and heart sick each time a woman asked and to not have an answer to that question, or hand them an NA Book, and so out of our frustration we formed a prison book drive with a goal of everyone who attended each meeting would have their own Basic Text or Step Working Guide to begin to understand this very simple program.

Our mission is to have books behind the walls in women's institutions in Southern California with a vision to grow throughout the State of California with the help of those who would like to donate, or who will allow us to sell at alternative merchandise. 

We thank you for supporting us in our endeavor to fullfil our primary purpose to a population who would not otherwise be able to do it for themselves initially.
